Dresser developed the Consolidated Green Tag Center® (GTC) program in 1980 to provide better customer support, at a local level, and boost PRV safety through regular preventative maintenance. To date, the Consolidated GTC Program is recognized as the most preeminent aftermarket repair organization in the valve industry.
Baker Hughes has continued the advancements of the GTC program, and today there are more than 80 GTCs worldwide. We at Valve Sales Inc. are incredibly proud of our GTC certification. For us, becoming a GTC was a natural extension of our commitment to safety and to our customers. Bringing factory equal or greater aftermarket support to a local level is what our customers demand.
What it takes to become a member of Baker Hughes Green Tag Center network
Certification as a local Green Tag Center isn’t easy. It requires ongoing training and verification to ensure technicians use the latest valve repair practices and technologies. Additionally, there are very specific guidelines and requirements on the square footage of your shop, capacity of test equipment, Consolidated OEM Parts, and Valves. Each GTC must be certified for the assembly of ASME Section I & VIII Consolidated products to support local customers.
Your local GTC must go to market with industry leading technicians, inside sales and field sales support.
TECHNICIAN TRAINING AND TESTING
Our technicians have completed the required training and certification on Consolidated pressure relief valve repair. Training is a combination of classroom and hands-on over several weeks and multiple levels. Our techs are also frequently tested on valve assembly, valve testing, maintenance practices, and other topics essential to keeping PRVs working at peak performance.
YEARLY AUDITS
Our facility in Tulsa is audited once a year to ensure that we continue to provide PRV services and repair aligned with GTC standards. This is in addition to audits from The National Board & ASME. One of several things that separates a GTC from an independent VR Certificate holder.
COMPLIANCE WITH CODE REQUIREMENTS
The Green Tag label indicates that we — and the valves we service — are in full compliance with National Board and ASME standards. The Green Tag is an indicator of safety, quality and peace of mind.
Benefits of working with certified GTCs
When you work with a GTC, you know that you’re getting the best PRV services to the most current engineering standards possible, including a large inventory and OEM-certified repairs parts.
ACCESS TO A LARGE INVENTORY OF CONSOLIDATED VALVES
As a GTC, we have a large inventory of Consolidated valves on hand, which means you don’t have to wait to receive your orders. Additionally, we have global access to other GTC’s inventory to support your local requirements. This makes around $55M of inventory available at a moment's notice.
FASTER DELIVERY OF CRITICAL VALVES AND VALVE PARTS
The GTC network includes the ValvFast program which facilitates fast delivery of Consolidated pressure relief valves. So, if you need a spring-loaded, bellows, or pilot operated PRV, or special parts required for a repair, we can often get them in as little as 24 hours. With today’s logistics, almost anything is possible.
ACCESS TO THE MOST UP-TO-DATE INFORMATION ABOUT CONSOLIDATED VALVES
GTCs have exclusive access to the latest technical information and engineering guidelines about Consolidated PRVs. This means that when new technologies and new practices arise, our technicians are the first to know.
VALVES REPAIRED AND RECERTIFIED TO LIKE-NEW or BETTER CONDITION
GTC-certified technicians are trained to repair Consolidated valves to like-new condition, helping you stay in compliance with local jurisdictional requirements.
ADVANCED VALVE TESTING CAPABILITIES WITH EVT
Electronic valve testing (EVT) allows us to test your valves online, so you can meet your recertification requirements without downtime. Consolidated has the only OEM supported hydraulic lift assist device, the EVT. These are only available from your local GTC. We provide EVT for steam, air, and some liquid valves. Learn more about our EVT services.
